A Maple Leaf Fleet Community Partnership

Good Food.Stronger Communities.

Last Chance Produce (LCP) rescues donated fresh produce, checks it over, and makes it available to people who need it at no cost. Through volunteer kindness and community generosity, LCP helps good food reach people instead of the garbage or compost.

Why the Maple Leaf Fleet Stands with Last Chance Produce (LCP)

A community partnership grounded in dignity, kindness, and service.

At the Maple Leaf Fleet, we believe community is about more than the things that bring us together. It is also about what we do for one another. Guided by the principle of Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations (IDIC), we believe every person deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to be treated with kindness.

That is why we are proud to support Last Chance Produce. LCP puts those values into action: volunteers give their time, donated produce is checked and shared with people who need it, and good food is rescued rather than wasted. Its work is built on compassion, trust, honesty, and the belief that everyone deserves access to fresh food without cost or judgment.

We are not here to take the spotlight. We are here to help LCP receive the recognition, encouragement, and community support it deserves. Through fundraising, community outreach, and our online platform, the Fleet is proud to help more people discover LCP and the work it does.

Fandom brings us together. Community gives us purpose. Service gives our journey meaning.

Giving Never Gets Old.

More than food rescue: a labour of love, kindness, and volunteer service.

Last Chance Produce (LCP) exists to help people in our community access fresh produce and enjoy healthier eating. When donations of produce come in, volunteers carefully check it over before sharing it with people who can use it. In doing so, good food is given another purpose instead of being sent to the garbage or compost.

There is no cost for the produce. LCP is powered by volunteers and the generosity of those who donate, making this work a true labour of love and kindness. At its heart, LCP is about more than food: it is about neighbours helping neighbours, reducing unnecessary food waste, and making sure people can receive support without shame or judgment.

LCP's commitment is simple and deeply important: every person should be treated with dignity and respect, whatever their circumstances. Everyone deserves kindness, honesty, and trust — alongside access to food that can help them and their families.

Dignity. Honesty. Trust. Respect. Always.

These are not just words. They are the values LCP strives to put into practice through its volunteer work, its food distribution, and the way it welcomes and supports people in the community.

Help Last Chance Produce (LCP) Find a Permanent Home

LCP needs a suitable indoor space to continue its work safely and reliably through the winter months.

Last Chance Produce is seeking a suitable permanent location in Calgary's Forest Lawn area. An outdoor pop-up market becomes increasingly difficult as temperatures drop, and a dependable indoor home would help LCP continue getting donated fresh produce to people who need it.

Could you help make a connection? We are asking property owners, businesses, community organizations, and anyone who knows of a suitable space to reach out. A lead, introduction, or offer of space could make a meaningful difference.
