Welcome to the Maple Leaf Fleet and the Celestial Federation of RA.
We are an independent, inclusive Canadian sci-fi community where Star Trek meets Stargate, and the Multiverse becomes reality.
Built proudly in Canada, the Fleet combines creativity, imagination, storytelling, character development, conventions, friendship, community outreach, charitable support, and shared adventure into one living universe.
At the heart of what we do is community. We believe fandom can bring people together — and that the connections created through fandom can be used to support others. Through charitable partnerships, fundraising, outreach, public events, and community initiatives, we look for opportunities to turn our shared passion into positive action.
Guided by our Charter, By-Laws, and Member Handbook, we strive to maintain a respectful, structured, and welcoming environment where every member has the opportunity to contribute, create, serve, and belong.
The Maple Leaf Fleet is proudly independent and built on the belief that everyone deserves a place to belong, create, explore, and participate without judgment.
Inspired by the principle of Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations — IDIC, we believe our differences make our community stronger. Different backgrounds, experiences, interests, and stories do not divide us — they make us who we are.
Star Trek, Stargate, and science fiction are more than entertainment to us. They inspire us to imagine better possibilities, explore new ideas, build friendships, and consider what kind of community we want to create here in the real world.
At the heart of the Fleet is community. Through conventions, missions, gatherings, online connections, creative projects, and simply sharing time together, we create opportunities for people to meet, connect, and build lasting friendships.
We believe fandom can do good. Through fundraising, charitable partnerships, community outreach, public events, and support for organizations making a difference, we strive to turn our passion for science fiction into positive action.
Whether you're an officer, civilian, cadet, cosplayer, storyteller, volunteer, supporter, or simply someone who loves science fiction — there is a place for you within the Fleet. You don't have to fit one mold to be part of the Fleet.
The Maple Leaf Fleet exists to bring people together through the shared love of science fiction, imagination, storytelling, exploration, and community — while using that community to support others.
Inspired by the ideals represented throughout Star Trek, Stargate, and science fiction, we believe in diversity, inclusion, friendship, curiosity, creativity, and the responsibility to help those around us.
We believe Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations is more than a phrase. It is a philosophy.
Different people. Different experiences. Different backgrounds. Different interests. Different stories. Together, they create something greater than any one person could create alone.
Through Fleet events, conventions, creative projects, charitable fundraising, community partnerships, outreach initiatives, and shared adventures, we strive to create a community where people can connect, contribute, and feel that they belong.
We explore strange new worlds.
We seek out new friendships and new possibilities.
And wherever our journey takes us, we try to leave the community a little better than we found it.
The Maple Leaf Fleet is inspired by a simple idea: the future can be better than the present, and we all have a part to play in making it so.
Gene Roddenberry's vision of Star Trek imagined a humanity capable of learning from its differences, moving beyond division, and working together toward something greater. We believe that vision is worth carrying forward — not only in the stories we love, but in the way we treat one another here and now.
“The human race is a remarkable creature, one with great potential, and I hope that Star Trek has helped to show us what we can be if we believe in ourselves and our abilities.”
For us, the important part is not simply imagining a better future. It is asking what we can do today to move a little closer to it — by welcoming people, respecting differences, building friendships, creating together, and helping where we can.
IDIC — Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations — is at the heart of that belief. Our differences do not have to divide us. When different experiences, ideas, personalities, talents, and perspectives come together, they can create something none of us could create alone.
The Fleet draws inspiration from many of Star Trek's captains. Each represents a different quality of leadership, courage, exploration, or community that we want to carry forward into our own Fleet.
“I don't believe in a no-win scenario.”
When the path forward is difficult, keep looking for a possibility. Courage means refusing to give up on the people depending on you.
“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose.”
Leadership is more than authority. It is the responsibility to listen, uphold your principles, and give people the confidence to move forward together.
“Fortune favors the bold.”
Service is about showing up, carrying responsibility, supporting your people, and doing the work that community requires.
“We’re Starfleet officers. Weird is part of the job.”
A community becomes more than an organization when people feel connected to one another. We want the Fleet to be a place where people can be themselves and friendships matter.
“We didn’t come out here to play God.”
Exploration means remaining curious, meeting people different from ourselves, learning from the experience, and respecting the people and cultures we encounter.
“Wherever our mission takes us, we’ll try to have a little fun along the way.”
Hope means continuing the journey with courage, compassion, and optimism. The future is not something we simply wait for — we help shape it.
We cannot build the 23rd century today.
But we can build a little more of its spirit here.
We can welcome someone who feels alone. We can listen to someone whose experience is different from ours. We can create something together that none of us could have created alone. We can lend a hand when someone needs it.
We can leave our community a little better than we found it.
That is what IDIC means to us. That is what being part of the Maple Leaf Fleet means. And that is the future we choose to build.
The Maple Leaf Fleet was not born from a single idea alone, but from myth, imagination, and the rebirth of something thought forever lost.
Chapter One: Atlantis Ascendant
The ocean had long claimed Atlantis in the minds of men. Scholars debated its fate, legends whispered its loss, and sailors feared its name. But the truth was far stranger than any myth: Atlantis had not fallen. It had risen.
In the waning days of Egypt’s great dynasties, Queen Cleopatra VII uncovered secrets older than time itself. Hidden deep within the temples of Thoth were records of a civilization that had once ruled the stars. Among the hieroglyphs and ancient schematics lay the greatest of their creations: the Eye of RA.
The Eye was no ordinary device. It was a stellar engine, a bridge between worlds and realities, and the ultimate instrument of creation and exploration. Embedded deep within the city’s core and integrated into the power systems of every ship in the Maple Leaf Fleet, it slept quietly for centuries, humming faintly like a heartbeat beneath stone and steel.
But when it awoke… the universe itself seemed to bend.
Golden energy erupted from the Eye, coiling into a towering vortex of light that shimmered and twisted in the void. The ring of power was not an illusion. It was solid to the eye, yet fluid, like molten gold suspended in space. Sparks of cosmic energy danced across its surface, painting the darkness with brilliance that could blind the unprepared.
Ships had to fly through it. It demanded skill, courage, and precision. The vortex was a storm of temporal currents, twisting reality like water in a whirlpool. Pilots could see entire galaxies reflected along the golden spirals, stars bending and stretching as if the universe itself were peering back. One wrong maneuver could hurl a vessel into a distant, unknown reality, or leave it stranded in the infinite void between worlds.
The Eye of RA was not merely a portal. It was an adventure made tangible, a living bridge connecting realities. Crew and ship alike became participants in a cosmic ballet, their engines synchronized to the pulsing energy of the Eye, riding the waves of light into universes untouched by any human hand.
It was through this physical manifestation of the Eye that Flin had called the Wildrose across light-years, a spectacle of power and precision that left the crew awestruck. And now, with the Fleet reborn, it was theirs to command — to pilot through infinity, to explore new worlds, to face dangers and wonders beyond imagination.
Every activation of the Eye of RA was a story in motion: light, energy, sound, and motion intertwined into a single, breathtaking experience. It was the spark that ignited the imagination, the gateway that called the brave to step forward, the golden threshold between what is known and what is possible.
Through the Eye, the Maple Leaf Fleet would sail into the unknown, navigating not just space, but reality itself — and every captain, every officer, every cadet who dared to step aboard would feel the pulse of adventure thrumming beneath their feet, urging them onward into the stars.
For centuries, Flin had drifted alone aboard the remnants of Atlantis. The city, once vibrant with energy, dimmed with time. Shields faltered, engines slowed, and sensors went dark. Then, faintly at first, the sensors detected a ship: the lone Wildrose, a Starfleet vessel, drifting unknowingly near the ruins of Atlantis.
With a surge of his will, Flin activated the Eye. The golden vortex blossomed before the Wildrose, a living, twisting gate of molten light. Pilots held their breath as the ship sailed through the physical manifestation of the Eye, pulled across space and reality itself, into orbit above the city.
The crew of the Wildrose were awestruck. Before them stood Flin, the last of the pharaohs, a being whose presence carried centuries of wisdom and the weight of worlds. He revealed the truth of Atlantis, the Eye of RA, and the civilizations lost to time and fractured realities.
Faced with undeniable proof, the crew made a choice. Starfleet no longer bound them. Their loyalty would now serve a new purpose: the rebirth of Atlantis, the founding of a sovereign federation, and the exploration of countless realities yet unseen.
The Wildrose was carefully dismantled. Its components were fused into Atlantis’ restoration, blending Atlantean technology with Canadian ingenuity. From this union rose the Celestial Federation of RA, a new order devoted to exploration, defense, and stewardship of the multiverse.
At the heart of the Federation was its banner, a symbol of unity, purpose, and heritage.
The Maple Leaf stood proudly at the center, honoring the Canadians who rebuilt Atlantis and carried its legacy.
Embedded within the leaf was the Eye of RA, glowing with golden energy — the eternal engine and the gateway between realities.
Beneath the leaf, a pyramid rose, a testament to the builders of Atlantis and the wisdom they left behind.
Circling the pyramid, a ring reminiscent of a Stargate twisted like molten light, a constant reminder that through the Eye, the Fleet could traverse infinite universes.
Above all, the banner bore its oath, the guiding words of every officer:
“By Light and Leaf, We shield the stars.”
To defend this new order, Flin established the Officers of the Leaf: elite members of the Fleet trained in Atlantean doctrine and advanced technology, sworn to guard Atlantis and the Federation across the stars. Bearing the Maple Leaf and the Eye of RA as their emblems, they recited their oath:
“We are now Officers of the Leaf. By Light and Leaf, We shield the stars.”
The HMCSS Wildrose – NCC 74704 EH! had been reborn, reconstructed from its former hull and infused with Atlantean power. With a new captain and crew sworn to the Federation, orders were given. The Eye of RA was activated, its golden vortex spinning alive before them, a river of light twisting through the void.
With engines humming in perfect synchronization, the Wildrose sailed into the vortex. Its first official mission awaited: a journey to a distant world known as Asgardia. Across realities, through the Eye of RA, the Fleet’s story was only just beginning.
